BALDWIN — Residents of Lake County are invited to enjoy a hot, home-cooked Thanksgiving meal, thanks to Men of Purpose and Bread of Life Food Pantry who organize a meal for the community each year on Thanksgiving Day.

The meal is from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22, at St. Ann's Senior Center in Baldwin.

The annual event began a few years ago to provide a meal and gathering place for those who might be alone on the holiday. Organizers also invite sheriff's deputies and emergency personnel working on Thanksgiving to get some food, as well as hunters and visitors.

Turkey with all the trimmings will be served and takeout meals are available by calling Sandi Bowen at (231) 250-0981 by Wednesday, Nov. 21.

"Everyone is welcome to come enjoy the free meal," Bowen said.
