Commissioners replace position on sheriff’s office
LAKE COUNTY — Positions at the Lake County Sheriff’s Office have shifted around a little. Sheriff Rich Martin elected to defund one of two detective sergeant positions, a move which was supported by the Lake County Board of Commissioners at their meeting last Wednesday.
A position for chief deputy for road patrol will replace the detective sergeant position which is currently vacant.
“With two detective sergeant positions, there only is really need for one,” Martin said. “We are eliminating the one position and creating a chief deputy position to be in charge of road patrol, which allows the department to respond to more complaints in a more efficient manner.”
