LAKE COUNTY — The Tin Cup Springs trails area will now be maintained by an equestrian group who intend to form a campground which will be open to the public. The Lake County Board of Commissioners approved a grant to form the Tin Cup Equestrian Campground last Wednesday.

“I have been working with this large group of horse riders who helped maintain this trail area the last 20 years,” said Lake County Clerk Patti Pacola. “They achieved a grant from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources to build a campground at Tin Cup Springs. The grant needs approval from commissioners. This equestrian group brings a lot to the community by supporting local businesses.”

Although the campground will be maintained by the equestrian group, it will be open for public use, Pacola added.
