CHERRY VALLEY TWP. — Voters in Cherry Valley Township will be asked to renew two millages during the Nov. 6 election.

Voters will decide to renew an existing fire department millage of 1.25 mills ($1.25 per $1,000 of taxable value) to provide fire protection throughout the township for a period of five years, 2020 through 2024, raising an estimated $17,000 of revenue in the first year if approved.

Voters also will be asked to renew a street light millage for the purpose of paying for the continuation of the existing street light service in Cherry Valley Township.

If approved, three-quarters of a mill will be raised ($0.75 per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of five years, 2020 through 2024. An estimated $10,000 will be raised in the first year if approved.
