The Library Boosters will be holding a book Sale from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, March 25 and from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 26. Come see what books are available for purchase.

The regular meeting of the Boosters is scheduled for Thursday, March 10 at 1 p.m. at the Library. Anyone interested in the library is welcome.

Did you know that Lake County has a wonderful web site? Go to for information on Lake County. The website includes information on lodging, recreation, dining, local communities and much more. A calendar of events is included along with a beautiful photo gallery of Lake County. Check it out.

The Village of Luther has its own website. Go to and find great information in and around Luther. You can search local attractions, trail and campgrounds (including maps). The website offers links to local businesses and townships.

The library recently acquired a movie license so that they can show major motion pictures at the library.  Watch next month’s Community Newsletter for dates, times and titles. The movies will go along with their newly acquired popcorn machine donated by Logger’s Landing.

Story Hour is held every Monday from 11 a.m. until noon. Preschoolers get to hear a story, do a craft and have a snack. This program will continue throughout the summer. A parent must attend with their preschooler.

The Luther Senior Center offers meals for seniors every day at a suggested donation price of $2. You must be 60 years old, or be married to someone sixty years old to receive this reduced price. Anyone under sixty can still participate but at a higher price (I am not sure what that is, but I will check it out). The senior center has bingo every Wednesday from 9 until 11 a.m. They also have a game room that can be used for playing cards, working jigsaw puzzles or playing any other games you might like. The game room is equipped with a stationary bike and a motorized treadmill for your use. Come and enjoy! The senior center is located on State Road, across from the Catholic Church.

Have you checked out the newly relocated Salvation Army Store in Cadillac?  They are in the old Girl Coat factory, next to Ponderosa. Their prices are really good, and they have lots to offer. The first time I went there, I found twenty audio books which were marked $1.50, and that day they were reduced to half price. I bought all of them and donated them to the Luther Library.

The sun is shining, and somebody told me they had a whole yard full of robins.Of course that was down in the lower part of the state, but it is a good indication of spring being just around the corner!

Thought for the week: Advice would be more acceptable if it didn’t always conflict with our plans.

Have a great week.
