Sheriff's department charitable campaign ongoing

LAKE COUNTY — The Lake County Sheriff’s department charitable campaign program donated $1000 to Chase Public Library this week.

For the past year, the sheriff’s department has donated funds collected from the Sheriff's Returnables for Charity Campaign, the Blessing of the Bikes Shirt Drive and

The Special Cause Sheriff Patch Drive.

“It was a privilege to issue out another check today from one of our charity campaigns,” Sheriff Rich Martin said.

To date, the campaign has given to the following charities:

•AMVETS Post 1988 - $2000

•Luther Lions Club - $2000

•VFW Post 5315 - $2000

•Bread of Life Food Pantry - $2000

•Peacock Senior Center - $1000

•Irons SDA Community Center/Pantry - $1000

•Henrietta Senior Center - $1000

•Baldwin Youth Football Club - $1000*

•Chase Public Library - $1000

The total amount given to non-profits to date is $13,000.00.

These are ongoing programs that will continue to benefit several charities within the county.
