COVE executive director resigns
LUDINGTON — Communities Overcoming Violent Encounters will soon have some new leadership following the resignation of their current executive director Marie Waites.
COVE runs a number of programs to help individuals who have suffered domestic or sexual abuse and offers a recovery center in Ludington where victims and their families can recover while they attempt to get their lives back in order.
Waites tendered her resignation to the COVE board at its meeting on Jan. 25. No reason has been given for her resignation, but the COVE board has already begun searching for a replacement and board members said Waites will help the organization with the search.
Waites could not be reached for comment.
"This will not affect COVE's operations," said COVE board president Lynne Cavazos. "The board is still in place, the staff is still handling all of our day-to-day services just as they always have and Marie will be assisting us with the transition."
