Broad participation hoped for in Lake County Sportsman's Club organization

LAKE COUNTY - It’s taken a little more time than expected, but a meeting of the proposed Lake County Sportsman’s Club will soon take place and organizers are hoping for a wide and varied turnout.

“We held off meeting until we got through the holidays,” reported organizer Rick Delamater. “I guess it’s time to get the show on the road!”

Delamater and his organizing team members  Clay Cooper, Harold Nichols, and Seth Hopkins will be hosting a session a the  Pleasant Plains Township Hall on Saturday January 21, at 10 a.m.

“At this meeting, we will elect the Board of Directors and appoint committees who will start the process of securing a site, funding and grant sources, membership and dues structure, and more,” explained Delamater.

“The paperwork to the State has been filed and approved giving the club non-profit corporation status.

“The by-laws are prepared and ready to be implemented as we get started.”

If you are interested in participating and supporting shooting sports, archery or hunter’s safety/education for youth, then this is the club for you.

Be involved and part of the team that turns the dream of a first class Sportsman’s Club in Lake County into reality.
