Baldwin Community Schools alumni participated in the first Baldwin Alumni Adopt-A-Highway trash cleanup on Thursday.

With Baldwin graduates from 1959 to 2017 participating, six miles of U.S. 10 in Sweetwater Township were cleaned up.

“The cleanup went really well,” said Kelsey Bennett, who helped spearhead the effort. “We had a really great turnout, and I believe we’ll try and do it again in the future.

“We had almost 30 people volunteer their time toward this cleanup, and $235 was collected toward the Baldwin Alumni Endowment through the Lake County Community Foundation.

“We got it done in record time for a wonderful cause. We also had several who helped that were not Baldwin Alumni.” (Courtesy photo)
