Baldwin Superintendent discusses "Reading Month," visit to 1st grade class.

BALDWIN -- March is "Reading Month" all across the state of Michigan and everybody is getting involved in the act.

Baldwin Community Schools Superintendent Stiles Simmons visited the first-grade classroom of Mrs. Jodi Drilling at Baldwin Elementary School on Tuesday morning to read to the students and impress upon them why reading is important.

Below, Simmons discusses why he chose "Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus" and why he feels reading is important to today's student.

On Monday, state Sen. Darwin Booher, R-Evart, is scheduled to read to students at Baldwin Elementary.
