Bake and Craft Sale returns to Pompeii's restaurant in Baldwin

BALDWIN — The second annual Baldwin Craft and Bake Sale is returning to give area residents a chance to buy — or sell — that rare creation or delicious snack just in time for the holiday season.

The sale will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, and Saturday, Dec. 5, at Pompeii's restaurant in Baldwin. The owner, Jen Henney, offered the space for the sale both years, a gesture the organizers said they were immensely thankful for. Being in Baldwin gives crafters another outlet to buy and sell their goods, while being closer to more people.

"We've been doing this for two years," said Sue Reich, the event's organizer. "There are craft shows in other places around Lake County, but none in Baldwin so we thought: why not have one here?"

Despite being only two years old, the event is already popular. Reich quickly ran out of available tables at the sale although she noted there's plenty of room left for customers. The sale will have a variety of craft items, but also a variety of treats as well.

"There will be crocheted items, glass products, leather products ... the usual kind of things you would see at a craft sale," explained Reich. "It's also a bake sale so we'll have home made chocolate, cookies, cupcakes and all the rest."

Proceeds from the sale will go to the Personal Pantry, a goodwill pantry run by the Assembly of God Church in Baldwin. For more information, contact Sue Reich at (231) 287-0828.
