Halloween and harvest events to take place at Lake County Libraries

LAKE COUNTY — The autumn season is not only a good time to sip some apple cider and curl up with a library book, it also is a time to come celebrate Halloween and harvest events to take place at the libraries.

Tea party fun will be the theme at the the Luther Area Public Library Halloween Party to take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 at the Luther Area Public Library, located at 115 State St., Luther.. The afternoon will consist of a costume contest and a lunch with hot dogs and fixings, and Halloween treats at 2 to 2:30 p.m. Following the lunch and costume contest, there will be a showing of the movie, “Alice through the Looking Glass.”

The Pathfinder Library Halloween Party will offer crafts, treats and a movie to the community. The event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the library, located at 812 Michigan Ave., Baldwin.

The Chase Township Public Library will host a Chase Library Harvest Party from 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 29. Hot dogs, potato chips, cupcakes and punch will be served. This family fun event will offer games and crafts. There will be a derby car contest in which participants will decorate a derby car and race it on a track. The contestants with the fastest and best decorated derby car will win a prize. The night will end with kids collecting candy with the Truck-or-Treat.
