BALDWIN — The Pathfinder Community Library in Baldwin hosted a presentation by "Michigan Chillers" author Jonathan Rand Oct. 5.

More than 90 children and 50 adults were in attendance, according to the library. The audience learned about writing their own stories and how to also enjoy a good scary story.

"Mr. Rand talked about the importance of reading and visiting the library," a press release from the library stated. "He said everyone has a story within themselves and all you have to do is write it down. Mr. Rand met personally with those that wanted to meet him. Children were able to have their picture taken with him and he was available to sign t-shirts and books."

Pathfinder provided each child with a free "Michigan Chillers" book and T-shirt.

Rand lives in northern Michigan and has sold more than 400 million books worldwide.

In the press release, the library thanked attendees for making a successful program.
