St. Ignatius Church in Luther will host its Spring Rummage Sale on Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The church is located at State St. and Old M-63. Please use the rear door.

Biker Breakfast

The Wellston Boosters Association will host a Biker Breakfast on Saturday, May 14 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. The event will be held at the Norman Township Hall , 1273 S. Seaman Rd., in Wellston.

All Out For Breakfast

The Henrietta Summers Senior Center, 533 Lansing, Idlewild, will host Breakfast on Saturday, 14 from 9 a.m. to noon Donations will support the Senior Center.

Idlewild Lake closed

The Idlewild Lake Association announces that Idlewild Lake will be closed to fishing, swimming and all water sports from 7 p.m. Sunday, May 15 through 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nay 18 due to aquatic nuisance plant control chemical application.

Alabama Relief

The Bulletin Board News and Irons Union Church are collecting donations for the victims of the tornadoes in Alabama. Donations of clothing (including all sizes of new underwear), small tools, household items and personal hygiene items can be dropped off at the Irons Unions Mission Store at 5713 W. Jeffers Rd. off 10 1/2 Mile Rd. in Irons until Monday, May 16. Store hours are Thursday, 1 to 4 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Money donations can be made to Irons Union Church (with Alabama Relief on the memo line) and mailed to PO Box 2, Irons, Mi 49644. Grief Support Group to meet

A Hospice of Michigan grief support group meets the third Monday of each month from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Hollister Senior Citizens Center, 1505 Michigan in Baldwin.

These services are provided to anyone who is mourning the loss of a loved one, whether or not the person was a hospice patient. Hospice of Michigan Grief Support programs are available free of charge.

Republicans to meet

The Lake County Republicans will meet on Monday, May 16 in the basement of the Baldwin Business Center. The potluck is at 5:30 p.m. and the meeting is at 6:30 p.m.

Bible Break

Everyone is invited to take a Bible Break on Tuesday at noon each week at the Passover House, 1210 Washington St., Baldwin. Fresh Food Giveaway

Grace Mobile Pantry, together with Feeding America Food Bank will provide free fresh food on the fourth Tuesday of every month at noon (noon), until gone. Food will be distributed in the parking lot of Grace Lutheran Church, 8636 S. M-37, Baldwin, on Tuesday, May 24. If you are income eligible, have children in need, or have a temporary distress situation, you may come and fill out your complete information on the day of the distribution. Sponsors and volunteers are from area churches and businesses, along with private individual donations. Life Skills/Stress and Anger Management Seminar

Volunteers needed

C.O.V.E. (Communities Overcoming Violent Encounters), formerly known as Region Four Community Services (The Women’s Shelter) is seeking a group of people willing to share some of their free time. A training will be held for those interested in assisting staff in answering the crisis line and/or being a receptionist. Items needed for the shelter include: curtains, diapers (infant to size 5), feminine products (pads & tampons), and socks.

Hospice of Michigan Sesame Street package

Hospice of Michigan is pleased to offer the Sesame Street program titled When Families Grieve through the Pathfinder Library, in Baldwin. The kits are bilingual (English and Spanish) and include two booklets and a DVD. Particularly designed to help children grieve, the kit also is to help patients and families sort through complex emotions, remember the life of a loved one, and find strength in one another.

The Ludington Area Jaycees are now offering the JAYS program, Jaycees Against Youth Smoking, for all area schools grades 3 through 7. This program s free for schools and provides the curriculum for teachers to take directly into the classroom. Support Group for caregivers

The support group for care givers of persons with s disease and other memory loss will now be held at the Croton Township Hall, 5833 E. Division, Newaygo. If you would like to attend, but need someone to stay with your loved one during that time, please call Pam at (231) 689-2100 or 1-800-689-2100, and we will provide a trained volunteer to help you.

Community Thrift Center

The Community Thrift Center at 10th and Maple streets in Baldwin, south of the Courthouse, has clean clothing, household articles, and some furniture.The Center hours are Mondays through Fridays, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. All donations of good used articles are welcome during hours the shop is open, ifpossible. All proceeds benefit the community.

A. A. will meet Mondays, at 8 p.m., at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Baldwin and Saturdays at 8 p.m. at the Baldwin Congregational Church, on the corner of 8th and Beech streets. Anyone with a desire to stop drinking.
