  Troutarama Meeting There will be a Troutarama planning meeting Thursday, July 11 at 11 a.m. at the Lake-Osceola State Bank. All committee members, event chairpersons, volunteers, and interested community members are cordially invited to attend. also any written suggestions for this years festival can be submitted at the Wenger Insurance office. Dates for Troutarama 2013 are July 17-21. Remember, 2013 is the 57 th Anniversary of Troutarama.  
Blood Drive The American Red Cross Blood Services will hold a Blood Drive on Thursday, July 11 from 12 to 5:45 p.m. at Ludington City Hall, 400 S. Harrison St., Ludington. Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh 110 pounds and be in good health.   Alzheimer’s Support Group An Alzheimers’s Support Group meets the second Thursday of each month at the Mason County District Library, 217 E. Ludington Ave., Ludington in the Zonta Room. The next meeting will be Thursday, July 11 from 1 to 2:30 p.m.   VFW Auxiliary To Meet The Peacock Post #5315 VFW Ladies Auxiliary will meet on Thursday, July 11 at 2 p.m. at the Post on M-37 north of Baldwin.   Garden Club To Meet The Garden Club of Lake County will meet on Thursday, July 11 at 5:30 p.m. at Hollister Senior Center, 1505 Michigan Ave., Baldwin. These services are provided to anyone who is mourning the loss of a loved one, whether or not the person was a hospice patient. Hospice of Michigan Grief Support programs are available free of charge. The next meeting is Wednesday, July 17. For more information call (231) 845-0321 or 1-800-839-8185.   Legion Officer Here An American Legion Field Service Officer will be available on the fourth Tuesday of the month from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Lake County July 23.   Fresh Food Giveaway Grace Mobile Pantry, together with Feeding America Food Bank will provide free fresh food on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 12 p.m. (noon), until gone. Food will be distributed in the parking lot of Grace Lutheran Church, 8636 S. M-37, Baldwin, on Tuesday, July 23. If you are income eligible, have children in need, or have a temporary distress situation, and are a resident of Lake County, you may come and fill out your complete information on the day of the distribution. Sponsors and volunteers are from area churches and businesses, along with private individual donations. All concerts take place at Wenger Pavilion in Baldwin.   Movie The Luther Library will show the movie “The Hobbit” for the monthly pot luck at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 20.   Lake County Finance Meeting The Finance meeting for the Lake County Board of Commissioners will take place Wednesday, July 24 at 9:30 a.m. at the Lake County Court house.   Commission Meetings The Lake County Board of Commissioners will meet Wednesday, July 24 at 10:30 a.m. in the Commissioners Room at the Lake County Courthouse. (They meet the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month).   Lions Supper The Luther Lions will host their monthly Supper on Wednesday, July 24 from 5 to 7 p.m..   Volunteers needed C.O.V.E. (Communities Overcoming Violent Encounters), formerly known as Region Four Community Services (The Women’s Shelter) is seeking a group of people willing to share some of their free time. A training will be held for those interested in assisting staff in answering the crisis line and/or being a receptionist. Household items in working order are also needed.   Hospice of Michigan Sesame Street Package Hospice of Michigan is pleased to offer the Sesame Street program titled When Families Grieve through the Pathfinder Library, in Baldwin. The kits are bilingual (English and Spanish) and include two booklets and a DVD. Particularly designed to help children grieve, the kit also is to help patients and families sort through complex emotions, remember the life of a loved one, and find strength in one another.   Martin Johnson Heritage Museum Visit the 1901 house of the “Hermit of Big Bass Lake” and Iron’s One-room Schoolhouse from noon to 3 p.m. Saturdays during July and August. Camp Martin Johnson memorabilia and photos, Martin Johnson’s paintings and local artifacts on display.
