Troutarama Meeting

There will be a Troutarama planning meeting Thursday, June 13 at 11 a.m. at the Lake-Osceola State Bank. All committee members, event chairpersons, volunteers, and interested community members are cordially invited to attend. also any written suggestions for this years festival can be submitted at the Wenger Insurance office. Dates for Troutarama 2013 are July 17-21. Remember, 2013 is the 57 th Anniversary of Troutarama.

Parkinson’s Support Group To Meet

Grief Support Group To Meet

A Hospice of Michigan grief support group meets the third Wednesday of each month from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the Hollister Senior Citizens Center, 1505 Michigan in Baldwin.

These services are provided to anyone who is mourning the loss of a loved one, whether or not the person was a hospice patient. Hospice of Michigan Grief Support programs are available free of charge.

Blessing of the Clubs

The 17th Annual Blessing of the Clubs will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 with a shotgun start at 12 p.m.The format is a 4 person Scramble at Marquette Trails Golf Club. Fresh Food Giveaway

Grace Mobile Pantry, together with Feeding America Food Bank will provide free fresh food on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 12 p.m. (noon), until gone. Food will be distributed in the parking lot of Grace Lutheran Church, 8636 S. M-37, Baldwin, on Tuesday, June 25. If you are income eligible, have children in need, or have a temporary distress situation, you may come and fill out your complete information on the day of the distribution. Sponsors and volunteers are from area churches and businesses, along with private individual donations. Volunteers needed

C.O.V.E. (Communities Overcoming Violent Encounters), formerly known as Region Four Community Services (The Women’s Shelter) is seeking a group of people willing to share some of their free time. A training will be held for those interested in assisting staff in answering the crisis line and/or being a receptionist. If you are willing to donate a few hours of your time, please contact Marie at (231) 843-2541.

Items needed for the shelter include: blankets, razors, toilet paper, dish soap and laundry soap.

Hospice of Michigan Sesame Street Package

Hospice of Michigan is pleased to offer the Sesame Street program titled When Families Grieve through the Pathfinder Library, in Baldwin. The kits are bilingual (English and Spanish) and include two booklets and a DVD. Particularly designed to help children grieve, the kit also is to help patients and families sort through complex emotions, remember the life of a loved one, and find strength in one another.
