Hiking at Loda Lake

The Spirit of the Woods Chapter of the North Country Trail Association will host a hike sat the Loda Lake Wildflower Sanctuary that is free and open to the public on Saturday, April 21 at 10 a.m. A botanist from the Forest Service will be the guide. Sportsman’s Club to meet

The Lake County Sportsman’s Club will meet on the first and third Saturday’s of the month at 10 a.m. The meetings  are held at the Pleasant Plains Township Hall, 885 8th St. in Baldwin. The next meeting will be Saturday, April 21, 2012. For further information visit the website at

Road Clean-up

The Idlewild Adopt-A-Highway group will meet on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the corner of US-10 and Forman Rd. in Idlewild to begin their regular road clean-up. R.V.S.P. to 313-212-0272 if you plan to attend the picnic at the Roadside park on US-10 between Idlewild and Chase. Let us know if you can contribute to the flower fund.

Open House

The Webber Fire Department will host an Open House at their new fire hall on Saturday, April 21 from 12 to 6 p.m. The new fire hall is located at 2324 W. Springtime St., North of Baldwin. The public is welcome.

Grief Support Group to meet

A Hospice of Michigan grief support group will meet the fourth Monday of each month from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the Hospice of Michigan office, 5177 W. US-10, Suite 2 in Ludington. Note the new location! The next meeting will be Monday, April 23. This meeting is open to anyone who is mourning the loss of a loved one, whether or not the person was a Hospice patient. The meetings are free of charge. Fresh Food Giveaway

Grace Mobile Pantry, together with Feeding America Food Bank will provide free fresh food on the fourth Tuesday of every month at 12 p.m. (noon), until gone. Food will be distributed in the parking lot of the Lake Township Hall, 15580 Star Lake Dr., Baldwin, on Tuesday, April 24. If you are income eligible, have children in need, or have a temporary distress situation, you may come and fill out your complete information on the day of the distribution. Sponsors and volunteers are from area churches and businesses, along with private individual donations. If you, your church or business would like to sponsor a monthly event, please call Sandra Pudell at 231-898-3813. Sponsors are needed. The Board of Directors of FiveCAP, Inc. will meet Thursday, April 26 at 4 p.m. at the Main Office in Scottville, located at 302 N. Main St.,Scottville.

Gospel Jamboree

The Original Gospel Jamboree will take place on Saturday, April 28 at Amazing Grace Acres Church, corner of M-37 and Woodland Park Dr., south of Baldwin. Potluck is at 6:30 and music is at 7 p.m. Featured this time will be Blue Grass Echoes and the Faith Gospel Team. Everyone is welcome.

Pig Pickins Auction and Dinner

Amvets Post 1988, Baldwin will host a Pig Pickins Auction and Dinner on Saturday, April 28 beginning at 5 p.m. The post is located at 1959 24th St., north of Baldwin.

MARSP to meet

Grandparents Group to meet

A support group for grandparents raising grandchildren meets the second and fourth Monday of every month at the Mason County Reformed Church, 45 S.
